Ist irgendwas mit <strong>Todd Congelliere<\/strong> passiert? Man vermutet ja immer gleich das Schlimmste, wenn eine Compilation erscheint, die irgendeinem Menschen oder einer Band gewidmet ist. Aber hier kann ich Entwarnung geben, der Label-Boss von <strong>Recess Records<\/strong> ist guter Dinge, kann Dank Brille fast 5 Meter weit sehen und macht auch weiterhin Musik. Ihr kennt ja sicherlich die Bands von ihm, oder? <strong>Toys That Kill<\/strong>, <strong>Underground Railroad To Candyland<\/strong> oder zumindest <strong>FYP<\/strong>..? Na also.<br \/>\nInsgesamt 12 Lieder aus dem Gesamtwerk dieser verschiedenen Bands sind auf dem Sampler vertreten, der j\u00fcngst (digital) auf <a href=\"http:\/\/dirtcultrecords.com\/main\/\">Dirt Cult Records<\/a> erschienen ist und an dem so coole Leute wie <strong>Iron Chic, Low Cultures, Brokedowns, Mike Watt<\/strong> und viele andere mitwirken.<br \/>\nUnd die Geschichte hinter dieser Huldigung ist eigentlich auch schnell erz\u00e4hlt: Es liegt am Alkohol, wie der Label-Typ <strong>Chris Mason<\/strong> von Dirt Cult sich erinnert&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A few years ago my friend Walker and I got drunk and discussed curating a Todd C cover comp where we would ask bands to cover songs from any of his many bands. We actually started asking bands that night. The next morning I woke up a little hungover and remembered that coordinating comps is about the least fun thing in the entire world and shooting for a release date for a few months after we hatched the idea was a pretty ridiculous idea.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Und ein paar Jahre sp\u00e4ter ist das feine Ding schon fertig.
